This is a fantastic video by Pete Shaw of the 5k Your Way Shrewsbury Group.
It will give you an excellent idea of what to expect at a 5k Your Way group at parkrun.
Walk, jog, run, cheer, or volunteer at your local 5k Your Way Group on the last Saturday of the month at parkrun.
Thank you so much Pete for creating this awesome video!
A support group with a difference.
A community-based initiative to encourage those living with and beyond cancer, families, friends and those working in cancer services to walk, jog, run, cheer or volunteer at a local 5k Your Way parkrun event on the last Saturday of every month.
*5k Your Way, Move Against Cancer is a non medical initiative and our ambassadors cannot take responsibility for providing specialist advice or care. Please see our T&C's for full details.
Each of our 5k Your Way, Move Against Cancer parkruns will have at least one of our wonderful ambassadors there on the last Saturday of every month to meet and greet you at a designated meeting spot. Our Ambassadors are your 'go to' for each event and will run/walk with some of you if they can. After the walk/run, the ambassadors will gather you together for socialising over a much needed drink and cake.
This initiative was founded by Lucy Gossage, Oncologist at Nottingham City Hospital , a 12 times Ironman Champion and Gemma Hillier-Moses, International Runner and Founder of MOVE charity who was diagnosed with cancer herself at the age of 24 in 2012. Lucy and Gemma are both hugely passionate about supporting people living with and beyond cancer through the power of movement, also supporting the wider cancer community including friends, family members, doctors, nurses and health professionals.
